Norwich/Peterborough based artist and writer

Concerned with the fear of living in a world set up for something else, my work negotiates the stress of loving animals, relating to them, and advocating for them, at the same time as leaving them alone. The work speaks to sorrow, muteness, shamanism, joy, irony, bewildered amusement, profanity, shyness, and absence.

Human language, spoken language, to me, while powerful, is equally as trapping and oppressive. I prefer to engage with the world’s ideologies sensually and visually, while bluntly paying attention to the difficulty of language with incoherent titles. Each incompetent image, made principally without an audience in mind, is an offering to sanctity and sentience, responding to the sadness of coexisting unfairly, and the bliss and relief of absurdity.

While animals do not appear pictorially in all of my work, my grieving and hope for them is always part of the context.
